Frequently Asked Questions

Nearwell is a calm, open directory of wellness businesses across Aotearoa — from massage and yoga to saunas, float studios, and recovery spaces. It’s designed to help people discover genuine local wellness options, and help small businesses be found without ads or clutter.
Nearwell is built by a small independent team based in New Zealand. We’ve spent years helping local businesses show up online and wanted to create something simpler — a shared, people-first platform that connects communities without chasing scale or hype.
Yes. Nearwell is completely free for both visitors and wellness providers. There are no fees, commissions, or premium listings — every business has the same opportunity to be discovered.
You can add your space directly through our Add a Place form on the website. It only takes a minute — just include your name, contact details, and location. Once submitted, we’ll review it for accuracy before it goes live.
Yes. If your business is already on Nearwell, you can claim it by verifying your details. Once approved, you’ll be able to update your hours, links, and description anytime to keep it current.
Right now, Nearwell doesn’t. It’s an independent project focused on building a trusted foundation first. In the future, we may explore optional services or data insights that support local wellness providers — never paywalls or ads.
No. Nearwell isn’t a booking or payment platform. We simply help people find the right wellness spaces nearby, then link directly to each business’s own website or booking system.
Each new submission is checked manually or cross-referenced with public information (like business websites or maps). This helps keep the directory clean and accurate while avoiding spam or duplicates.
Because that’s home. Wellness in Aotearoa is personal, local, and community-based. By starting here, we can build something that respects local values, supports small operators, and reflects how New Zealanders actually live and relax.
We’re expanding the directory city by city and adding small improvements — better search, categories, and simple insights for providers. Long term, we want Nearwell to become the trusted home for finding wellness anywhere in New Zealand, built slowly and carefully with community input.
